7/30/2023 0 Comments Best pdf editor for ipad redditRelated to above, iPad pdf editing and reading apps tend to be far above in features and capabilities in supporting pdf’s and some of their more complex features.Ĭolor and resolution, any embedded links to videos etc.Ībility to connect easily and share documents across multiple devices.Īs for if it’s better on your eyes, personally I’ve never had an issue with the iPad Pro. PDF’s can be surprisingly intensive to many of the e-ink devices suffer poor responsiveness. Why is it better than an e-ink device? Speed. I would keep an eye out on here and on the mobileread forum, but honestly the tech doesn’t change that much which would warrant a wait.Įdit: saw there’s a new 13.3” bigme being launched called the X6 (maybe something to look into) No-one really knows when releases are going to happen until brands announce them. Fujitsu Quadernos are relatively new and most brands don’t update on a strict schedule with eink, but the first gen iirc came out in 2020, and the second gen came out mid-2021 (July/Aug). Since the Lumi2 is new, you probably won’t find an update till the end of the year. Boox typically has releases twice a year (although once for each size, with smaller devices announced early in the year, and larger devices later). ![]() There aren’t a lot of brands that make devices in the larger 13.3” size (there are some like MooInk that are almost exclusively in Chinese and are Sony clones- like the Fujitsu and Quirklogic). The weight difference will be noticeable in the larger 13.3” size.Ĭolor eink imo isn’t there yet imo (check out videos online and look carefully at color saturation, shift in resolution between color and b&w, contrast, and ghosting, but ymmv) and the largest device I’m aware of is by Bigme at ~10” size. Also has all the spec bells and whistles.įujitsu is lighter and a much simpler device. ![]() Note Air 2 is my preference for reading because of the in-built gyroscope, and meaning landscape mode is easy to get to, and has all the perks of android.īoox is open android which will allow you to download all kinds of reading apps (the native one called Neoreader is excellent) and have access to cloud services directly on the device. Neoreader (native reader software) is a really great tool for PDFs (allows all different kinds of pdf page viewing layouts- if you haven’t already check out My Deep Guide on YouTube for his reviews and Big Boox Guide which deals with all the features of the devices. If they do need portability, go with one of the 10.3” Boox Note devices. Both of these use the new Carta screen with improved contrast. Your main options here will be the Fujitsu Quaderno A4 Gen 2, or the Boox Max Lumi 2 (there is also the Quirklogic one but I haven’t looked into it). No need to pinch and zoom which is not the best on Eink devices. If the person is reading almost exclusively in one location, then I’d say get them a 13.3” one since it is closest to A4 size.
